Tim McCreight is a designer, author, metalsmith and educator with over 50 years of experience at the bench and in the field. He taught full-time for 25 years, first in Massachusetts and then in Maine where he currently lives. Tim has taught hundreds of workshops throughout the US, and in Canada, Japan, Mexico and the UK. He has written twenty books, produced a half dozen videos, and created apps for mobile devices. In 2014 he made his first trip to West Africa, traveling with a Canadian jeweler who was working on a book about the artists there. In response to what they found on that trip, Tim and Matthieu Cheminée founded a nonprofit organization called the Toolbox Initiative.
